Written Submissions (Under 18)

The biggest difference between our adult and under 18 category is that our "Kids' Corner " is broken into three age groups. When submitting work, let us know what age category you fall into: 

Kids: Ages 5-9 

Tweens: Ages 10-13

Teens: Ages 14-17 

The theme for our first edition is “Beauty in the Little Things.” Entry deadline is July 31, 2024.

Beauty in the little things looks different for everyone—small moments in life, the often overlooked bits of nature—whatever it is, we want you to write about it! 

We’re open to all unpublished genres in fiction and non-fiction, and we’re attracted to strong themes and voice. 

Entries need to be submitted as an email attachment (.doc file) to stbernardcreates@gmail.com. 

In the subject of the email include "Writing Submission." In the body of your email include a short bio about yourself, including what part of St. Bernard you live in.  

There is a no minimum word count and a maximum word count of 2,500 words.  

We accept 2 story submissions per person.

We’re open to all types of poetry. 

Entries need to be submitted as an email attachment (.doc file) to stbernardcreates@gmail.com. 

In the subject of the email include "Writing Submission." In the body of your email tell us what part of St. Bernard you're from. 

Poems should not exceed two pages in a WORD document. 

We accept 3 poem submissions per person. 

This is a family-oriented magazine, so we don’t accept entries with the following content: 

· Erotica 

· Defamatory or Discriminatory Content

· Politics-Centered Works

· Graphic or violent 

· No AI generated work! 

Feedback: Unfortunately we cannot provide individual feedback on submissions at this time. 

Rejections: We strive to reply to all entries in a timely manner. 

Payment: Unfortunately there is no payment for accepted submissions at this time.
